PMWA is an undergraduate-run magazine of world affairs.

We publish essays and research on topics relating to politics, society, policy and culture across the world. This includes works of international relations and study of domestic affairs.

The magazine succeeds the Princeton Diplomat and American Foreign Policy Magazine.

Our History

American Foreign Policy Magazine

American Foreign Policy Magazine was founded by undergraduate Princeton students in the aftermath of September 11th. It sought to mobilise the campus’s undergraduate population to examine how international events impact policymaking at home.

In 2019, the publication was revived as The Princeton Diplomat, known colloquially as “the Dip.” This rendition sought to expand beyond foreign policy, to a more general understanding of international affairs.

Policy analysis remained central, alongside international memoir, artwork, and interviews.

The Magazine Today

PMWA continues this lineage. We retain the undergraduate editorial foundation and its interest in international life.

We make room for comparative politics, political economy, history, and cultural inquiry, without requiring every subject to be approached through American foreign policy.
